Our firm was established in 1973 by Mr. Mohamed A. Ismail as the first law firm to be set up in Tanzania by a graduate of the University of East Africa. Since then there have been enormous changes in the firm and law. Where once the firm was made up of one person, today it is made up of five partners and where every lawyer was a generalist, today we are a firm of specialists.

We operate much like our entrepreneurial clients, using fresh and creative approaches and benefiting from the collaborative strength of multi disciplinary teams. Throughout our history, innovation has been a key element in achieving and sustaining our progress. Staying ahead means not only being responsive to change, but more importantly, playing a role in shaping change. Over the years, we have used innovation and entrepreneurial thinking to effect significant change in the practice of law and the conduct of business. We have a well established network and robust contacts in business.

Our firm has five departments which offer professional services to our clients. The departments are: Corporate, Intellectual Property, Taxation, Labour & Employment and Litigation.
